Wilson continued his good form from the World Match Play last month
Oliver Wilson finished one shot off the lead after a testing first round of the Honda Classic in Palm Beach, Florida. The 29-year-old, who reached the quarter-finals of the World Match Play last month, hit a bogey-free 66 to stay in touch at the top of the leaderboard. Home favourite Michael Connell and Australian Nathan Green both hit 65 to share the lead at five under. Brazil's Alexandre Rocha and Camilo Villegas of Colombia were also only one shot off the pace after fine rounds. Vijay Singh was one of a host of players on three under, while Graeme McDowell and Germany's Alex Cejka were the next best-placed Europeans at two under par.

606: DEBATE
England's Lee Westwood and Argentine Angel Cabrera were both positioned on one under on a congested leaderboard, with Westwood's compatriot Justin Rose on level par. Padraig Harrington and Rory McIlroy were six shots off the lead after one-over rounds of 71, alongside Chad Campbell, Jeev Milkha Singh and Mike Weir. Several big names struggled badly, though, with Ernie Els three over following a double bogey at the short 17th with another bogey at the par-five 18th. England's Paul Casey was three under after a birdie at the first and eagle at the long third, but his round fell apart on the back nine with four bogeys and a double bogey, and he went to the clubhouse at three over.
