Guernsey have announced their squad for the annual Inter-insular golf match which starts on Saturday at L'Ancresse.
Guernsey have not won the title since 2003, and their non-playing captain David Rowlinson said this year will be another tough encounter.
Rawlinson told BBC Guernsey: "I think this has been the strongest Jersey team there has ever been."
Guernsey will be boosted by the return of the island's golf champion, Andy Eggo, who missed the last two matches.
And with the in-form David Nicolle and Daniel Bisson also named in the Guernsey squad, the team has an experienced look to it.
"I think we've got our best team out that we've had for quite a few years," said Rawlinson.
"It's going to be a close game and I think Jersey are still favourites on paper, but I'm quietly confident that we can do quite well this weekend."
The Inter Insular matches start with five foursomes at 0830 BST on Saturday followed by five fourballs at 1330 BST.
The 10 singles matches get underway at 0830 BST on Sunday.
