Laird failed to qualify for next week's US PGA tournament
Scottish golfer Martin Laird produced his best US Tour performance after finishing joint second at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open in Nevada.
The 26-year-old was three strokes behind winner John Rollins on 14 under par, equalling the score of former US Amateur champion Jeff Quinney.
Laird, who carded a final-round 69 on Sunday, earned $264,000 (£158,440) for his display.
The Glaswegian shot up from 180th to 131st on the US Tour's money list.
With Rollins six shots clear early in the final round, Laird admitted second place was his main target.
"I knew realistically that unless John blew up it was going to be tough to catch him," he said.
"So second was kind of the second goal."
