|
Galgorm Castle Golf Club are aiming to attract amateurs from all over Ireland to the inaugural North of Ireland Strokeplay event on 30 August. Walker Cup prospect Paul Cutler is among the top local amateurs to have indicated an intention to compete. The 60 lowest handicap entrants will be entered into the draw in addition to the twelve category one entrants from Galgorm. The new event will be staged over 36 holes at the Ballymena venue. The plan is that players from throughout the UK will be enticed to Galgorm from next year onwards as the event becomes established. This year's entry fee will be £30 (35 Euro) which will include two rounds of golf plus a light lunch, with prizes up for grabs for the winners. The Galgorm hopefuls will be able to tee it up for only £15. Entry forms are available at Galgorm Castle by contacting the club on 028 256 46161 and a copy can also be downloaded from www.galgormcastle.com.
