McIlroy shoots third round of 69

Rory McIlroy finished equal 10th in last week's US Open

Rory McIlroy fired a third round of three-under-par 69 on Saturday at the BMW International Open in Munich.

The Holywood player carded five birdies and two bogeys and lies nine under par.

Michael Hoey is four under after a 71 which included two eagles, two birdies and five bogeys while Gareth Maybin is three under after a disappointing 74.

Retief Goosen leads on 17 under, with Bernhard Langer second on 15 under and Nick Dougherty and David Drysdale tied for third on 14 under.

James Kingston and Soren Kjeldsen are next on 13 under.

Peter Lawrie is level with McIlroy on nine under following a 70 while a round of level-par 72 sees Gary Murphy lie on three under for the tournament.

Ballyclare player Maybin registered three birdies and five bogeys in his round.
