Chris Wood has secured his European Tour card for next season with a top-10 finish at the Wales Open.

The 21-year-old fired a final-round 69 for a four-under par total at Celtic Manor to claim his third top-10 finish in as many tournaments.

"I'll still try and push as hard as I have, but I've got a different target now," Wood told BBC Radio Bristol.

"Rather than keep my card I'm looking to get into the Race for Dubai now. It's definitely on."

Wood is now 61st in the Race for Dubai after finishing five shots off winner Jeppe Huldahl.

And his efforts over the last two events have seen him climb 28 places in the push for November's end-of-season showpiece event on the European Tour, for which the top 60 qualify.

"It's nice to have a decent run," added Wood.

"I struggled after Christmas up to about March, but since I made my first cut after missing a few I've just been getting better and better.

"That's exactly what I knew I needed, just to make that one cut, get over that line and keep working hard and I knew it would come."
