Woosnam misses the cut in Augusta

Ian Woosnam at Augusta
It is nine years since Woosnam made it past the second round at Augusta

Former winner Ian Woosnam hit a second-round 75 to end his Masters campaign at five over.

The 51-year-old 1991 champion was pleased with a 74 on the first day, a round that included three birdies in the closing six holes.

However, Woosnam was undone by a 40 on the front nine on the second day, leaving him at six over.

The Oswestry man pulled back a shot on the closing nine, but with the cut at two over it was not enough.

Woosnam has again been battling against back spasms and was mourning for his mother, who died earlier this week.
