'Stepmother' Ochoa retains focus

World number one Lorena Ochoa has said that becoming stepmother to the three children of her husband-to-be will not derail her golf career.

She is engaged to AeroMexico boss Andres Conesa and they plan to marry in December. Conesa's children from his previous marriage are aged six to 13.

"I'm going to be playing for the next four or five years. I'm not going to retire any time soon," said Ochoa, 27.

The Mexican has made no no secret of her desire to start her own family.

"I always believed I'd have a big family, so I guess I'm going in the right direction because I'll already have three," she said at this week's HSBC Women's Champions event in Singapore.

"I get on really well with them. Lately we've started to hang out and spend more time on holiday together.

"They're very nice kids. It's a little bit easier because they like to play golf."
