Rory McIlroy took Ogilvy to the 17th hole before the match was decided
Rory McIlroy was beaten 2&1 by Geoff Ogilvy in Saturday's quarter-finals of the WGC-Accenture Match Play.
The 19-year-old from Holywood won the second hole before former US Open champion Ogilvy moved ahead with wins at the fourth and fifth.
McIlroy made it all-square at the ninth but he lost the 11th and 12th holes as his Australian opponent went 2up.
Winning the 13th gave McIlroy hope only for Ogilvy to take the 15th and end an impressive tournament for the teenager.
McIlroy secured victories over Louis Oosthuizen, Hunter Mahan and Tim Clarke to make the last eight stage.
