Meanwhile, skipper Nick Faldo has admitted the Europeans may have put too much effort in practice at Valhalla.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "Maybe in hindsight, we could have taken the practice a little easier. We played 18 on Tuesday, 18 on Wednesday and most guys played nine on the day before.
"We could have just played nine on three days and just concentrated on chipping and putting, and that sort of thing.
"It is more important to keep the energy levels up. It is a physically, mentally, emotionally draining week."
Harrington has five events left in 2008, starting with the Dunhill Links in Scotland, which he has won twice.
"It is an event I like, but I will not be ready for it - the Volvo Masters, I should be."
