Paula Creamer shot a final round two-over 73 but still managed claimed victory at the Jamie Farr Classic.
The 21-year-old American had carded a course record 11-under 60 in her opening round and went into the last day with a six stroke lead.
She finished on 16-under and won by two strokes from Nicole Castrale.
Castrale shot 64 in the final round and put in a late challenge to give Creamer a fright by putting six birdies in the last eight holes.
South Korea's Ji Eun-hee finished third with a 72 on 13 under, while Chinese rookie Feng Shanshan was fourth.
Feng shot a 69 and also made a charge on Sunday with five birdies through the first 11 holes before then stumbled late on by making three consecutive bogeys beginning on hole 14.
It marked her first top 10 finish on the LPGA Tour in 14 tournament starts this year.
