First-round leader Simon Khan and Henrik Stenson suffered bizarre fates in a remarkable second round of the Players' Championship of Europe.
Khan started the day seven under but failed to make the cut after a round of eight over, including six dropped shots in the last five holes.
Stenson was disqualified after losing count of how many shots he took at the 17th, so being unable to sign a card.
Lee Slattery and Zane Scotland share a one-shot lead on nine under par.
Andres Romero and Oliver Wilson are tied in third place on eight under, with Miguel Angel Jimenez a further shot behind.
Having taken just 26 putts in his first round, Khan needed 36 in the second, and admitted a shoulder problem struck him during the round.
But he refused to use that as an excuse for his display.
"My right shoulder gave way but I didn't putt well either and had four three-putts," he said.
"You can't blame them on the shoulder. A couple of bad putts and your momentum goes the other way."
Stenson was already destined to miss the cut after a front nine of 40, which left him well out of contention.
But the 31-year-old's day descended into farce when he was initially credited with a 12 on the par-five 17th, only to then be disqualified as he had lost count.
"I ran out of putts," said the Ryder Cup star.
"I missed a short one and then managed to double-hit it a couple of times in frustration.
"The day was pretty much over even before that. I was three or four over."
