Woods ended bogey, bogey but found himself tied second

"It was a comedy of errors. Stuff like that happens out here. That's golf, that's Augusta. It's a tough opponent."
Australian Stuart Appleby, who slumped to a triple-bogey on 17 to lose his long-time lead before getting it back again.
"That was one of the hardest rounds we have played out
here. If you make 18 pars you are going to move up that
leaderboard. But it's not like I'm 100 back so I've got a shot."
Tiger Woods said this when he finished four shots behind. Now he's one back and in the final group. Do you reckon he's pumped up for a fifth Masters or what?
"I'm not ready to concede. I don't feel it's unrealistic. I've seen
people come back from seven shots back."
Defending champion Phil Mickelson is mounting a spirited defence and refuses to give up.
"That will be the toughest round I'll ever play at Augusta,
until tomorrow."
Justin Rose, who regained his first-round lead before finishing with two bogeys in his last three holes for a share of second.
"You almost get lucky to get the right club in your hand. There's a lot of work left to do. It's 18 holes but, honestly, it's a lot more than that."
Appleby again, perhaps planning to squeeze in a quick nine before his fourth-round tee time.
"Well, I thought I was six over so I've just gained a shot walking up here."
Wales's Bradley Dredge after the BBC's Hazel Irvine asked him how he felt about being five over on his Masters debut.
"The greens are terrifying. It'd the hardest you can make a course and still get the guys to turn up."
US veteran Davis Love, who shot 77 for 10 over.
"It was like trying to land a golf ball on your driveway, but your driveway has mounds on it and they stick the pin near the mounds. Sometimes you have to just giggle about it. Best of luck, I'm glad I'm done."
Former USPGA champion Rich Beem, who "bounced back" from a second-round 81 with a 75 for 11 over.
"When I'm back here for Thanksgiving and Christmas, it's just like this."
Augusta local Charles Howell on the wintry conditions.
"It feels more like I'm in Cardiff than Augusta with the weather. At least we have no rain. Mind you, we could have snow it's that cold."
Bradley Dredge chip in with his own British observations on the weather.
