Graeme McDowell shot a disappointing 78 to miss the cut at the Malaysian Open while Darren Clarke is well off the pace at the halfway stage.
Clarke fired a 72 for two over which left him on the projected cut at the weather-affected event in Kuala Lumpur.
A number of players will have to finish their rounds on Saturday.
McDowell's 78 included double bogeys at the 18th and the 1st. Damien McGrane shot a 73 for one under which left him six behind leader Chinarat Phadungsil.
Gary Murphy and Peter Lawrie also missed the cut after finishing on six over following rounds of 75 and 76.
Clarke finished his round with a disappointing double bogey but he is likely to survive to the weekend despite his struggles.
