Casey picked for Goodwill line-up

Casey (L) and Canizares will line up at Mission Hills Golf Club

Ryder Cup star Paul Casey and European Tour rookie Alejandro Canizares have been named in the combined Europe & USA team for the Goodwill Trophy in China.

The pair have been selected by player-captain Colin Montgomerie for the inaugural event, which takes place on 13-14 November.

Luke Donald, Chris DiMarco and Henrik Stenson have already been picked.

International skipper Retief Goosen has added Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee and Korea's KJ Choi to his team.

They join New Zealand's Michael Campbell and China's Lian Wei Zhang.

Casey currently leads the European Order of Merit while Canizares, son of Jose Maria, won the Russian Open in August.

The teams, comprising of eight players, will play foursomes on day one and singles to finish.

The event is a joint project between China's Mission Hills Golf Club and Wales's Celtic Manor Resort, which will host the Goodwill Trophy in next year.
