Much depends on the wind on this hole. At your back - the usual scenario - it is a short iron to the green, in your face, it is a four or five iron.
The river comes much more into play here, hugging the right edge of the hole all the way up to the green.
The temptation is to play safe out left, but there is a long and winding bunker lying in wait there.
Little or no breeze here and there will be plenty of birdies.

A beautiful hole. The Liffey right from tee to green, plenty of bunkers on the left. A little cracker

During the Captain's Charity Day in 2003, a popular though rotund 22-handicapper addressed his three wood to the ball, pirouetted and sent it on its 145-yard journey. Cries were heard from him, "anyone see that?"
With a sinking feeling, his partners saw the ball rise 12ft in the air, hit the upslope of the first bunker, glide gracefully through the second bunker and, using the fade on the ball, watched it role 20ft and into the centre of the cup.
If this wasn't bad enough, our genius's insistence on hugging and kissing his partners was too much to bear! Later that evening the self same 'golfer' was heard waxing lyrically about "the swing he put on the ball". David Coyle, K Club member
