Irish impact in the Ryder Cup
Paul McGinley
McGinley holed the winning putt when his half against Jim Furyk ensured Europe regained the Ryder Cup.

He had trailed since the second but levelled on the 17th and sank a 10ft par putt on 18 for a half, sparking jubilation.

"My memories are still very strong and vivid of that day," said McGinley. "It was down to fate more than anything else. To hole the putt the way I did was something you dream of as a boy.

"It was a wonderful occasion. It was a moment I wish I could have shared with everyone, that explosion of joy."
