Irish impact in the Ryder Cup
Eamonn Darcy's moment came when he beat Ben Crenshaw as Europe won for the first time on US soil at Muirfield Village in 1987.
In a rollercoaster match, the American ace snapped his putter in anger on the 6th and had to use a 1-iron or sand wedge.
"After the 1st, a 25ft stone American started screaming, 'Kill him Ben, kill him, no prisoners today'. I thought, 'My god, we're on for something here'," said Darcy.
"It's ironic that so many of us Irish have been in the key place at crucial times and come through."
