Corey Pavin was one shot clear with seven holes to play when the second round of the US Bank Championship was halted on Friday due to darkness.
The 46-year-old American was on 12 under, a stroke ahead of clubhouse leader Jason Bohn, who shot a 64.
Defending champion Ben Crane was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard at the Milwaukee course.
More than 100 players had had to complete their rain-affected opening rounds on Friday morning.
Seventy-seven players will complete their second rounds on Saturday morning with a two-tee start scheduled for the third round, which will begin later in the day.
After Thursday's rain, it was a long, hot day for much of the field, who had to play two rounds in temperatures in the mid-90sF.
Pavin, whose opening round of 61 included a PGA Tour record front nine of 26, was three under for his second round.
American Bohn, who was among those playing two full rounds in one day, had three birdies in the last five holes to take the clubhouse lead on 11 under.
Crane's disqualification ccame after he marked down a three instead of a five at the par-five sixth hole.
