Open runner-up Chris DiMarco and 2005 US Open winner Michael Campbell have signed up for the inaugural Goodwill Trophy to be held in China in November.
The match play tournament is a joint project between China's Mission Hills Golf Club and Wales's Celtic Manor Resort - host of the 2010 Ryder Cup.
The aim is to enhance trade, tourism and cultural exchange between the UK and China through golf.
The event will see a Europe & USA team take on a Rest of the World line-up.
Scot Colin Montgomerie made American DiMarco and Britain's Luke Donald his first two picks as captain of the Europe & USA team.
South Africa's Retief Goosen chose Campbell and China's best-known player Lian-Wei Zhang with his initial choices at Rest of the World skipper.
"Chris DiMarco and Luke Donald are two of the toughest competitors on the PGA tour," Montgomerie said.
Goosen said of New Zealander Campbell: "I know exactly how good a match play performer he can be after he beat me 7 & 6 at Wentworth in the World Match Play last year."
