Very rarely is anything more than a seven-iron required, and a clean shot from the elevated tee will carry the dunes and onto the green. But beware, the green is protected on both sides by deep bunkers that require a very demanding save.
For the amateur other challenges can arise, especially with the right to left prevailing wind that can bring the row of houses into play. A wayward hook is definitely not recommended!
The 17th green and 18th tee are located alongside the green, a clear indication to players that they are on the homeward stretch. This may focus the minds of those leaving the 15th on Sunday evening!
