Jang powers into lead in New York

Women's British Open champion Jeong Jang set her sights on a second LPGA title after a third-round 66 in the Wegmans LPGA in New York.

Jang led on 11 under by one shot from fellow South Korean, Mi Hyun Kim and American Brittany Lang, who eagled the long 17th for a 69.

Italy's Silvia Cavalleri is the leading European on eight under.

England's Johanna Head, the only British player to make the cut, had a 74 to leave her in tied 69th place.

Halfway leader Shi Hyun Ahn, who had led by one shot overnight, slipped back with a 75 and was six shots off the lead on six under par.

Jang, who is bidding to become the eight Korean to win on the LPGA Tour this season, has had six top-10 finishes this season.

She claimed six birdies in the round, beginning strongly with two in the opening two holes and then chipping in from 15 yards at the fifth.

Jang had another at the 12th and then picked up two more at the 15th and 16th, sinking putts from 15 foot and 9 foot to put herself in a strong position.
