Karrie Webb claimed victory in the LPGA's first major of the year, the Kraft Nabisco Championship, after a play-off victory over Lorena Ochoa.
Webb started the day seven shots behind Ochoa but moved into contention with an 116-yard eagle at the 18th.
Ochoa, whose round included four bogeys and two birdies, also eagled the 18th to force a play-off.
But the Australian kept her cool to birdie the first play-off hole for her seventh major title.
American teenager Michelle Wie just missed the birdie she needed at the final hole to join the play-off.
Wie, who started the day in second, three shots behind Ochoa, finished with a 70 for 280, sharing third place with fellow American Natalie Gulbis, who had her second straight round of 68.
Annika Sorenstam had her best score of the week, but a 70 from the defending champion was only good enough for a share of sixth place on two under par.
Karen Stupples was the highest-placed Briton, but a closing 76 left her tied for 17th on three over.
For Webb, winning her first LPGA title in almost two years was a dream come true.
"I've worked so hard and not had the rewards the last few years," said the 31-year-old.
"That shot at the last was just amazing. I'll remember it forever."
