The Senior British Open will return to Turnberry for the 2006 Championship, from July 27-30.
It will be the sixth time the Ayrshire links will have staged the tournament, which has a prize fund of £1m.
American legend Tom Watson will defend the title he won in Aberdeen in July on a course where he beat England's Carl Mason in a play-off for the 2003 title.
He also memorablly triumphed over Jack Nicklaus in the 'Duel in the Sun' Open of 1977 at the same venue.
