Stephen Dodd hopes a mid-season break has helped him find his form ahead of the USPGA at Baltusrol, New Jersey.
"I had a few weeks off earlier this year as well and went on to win the Irish Open, something similar would be nice," said the 39-year-old from Barry.
The tournament will be Dodd's US professional debut after 15 years in the paid ranks, although he played the 1990 Masters at Augusta as an amateur.
He will be partnered by Loren Roberts and Ron Philo in the first two rounds.
