Justin Rose will miss next week's Open at Troon after missing the halfway cut at Loch Lomond.
Rose failed to recover from his poor opening round as he tried to chase the one remaining spot as leading non-exempt player.
"I feel like I should be involved, but my rankings fell at the wrong time," admitted the 23-year-old Englishman.
"I'll have a few days away next week and try not to see too much television. I might watch Sunday, though."
Rose began his opening round full of confidence after shooting 10 birdies in a closing course record of 65 last weekend at the K Club near Dublin.
But his hopes were dashed by a round which included four bogeys and three double-bogeys.
Although he improved on Friday with a one-over-par 72, he was left facing an uphill battle.
"It feels like my momentum has been stopped by something or other," Rose admitted.
"I don't think the travelling across the Atlantic has taken a massive toll, but this year was always going to be a bit of an experiment."
