Daly will sit out US Open
Two-time major winner John Daly
John Daly has declined to try and qualify for this year's US Open
John Daly has confirmed he will not be taking part in a qualifying event for the US Open, which takes place at Shinnecock Hills later this month.

Daly, a two-time major winner, is not in the world top 50 and has not won two events this season, so would have had to qualify if he wanted to play in it.

"My agents put an application in. I told them not to as I wasn't going to try and qualify but they did," he said.

"I don't think guys who win tournaments should have to qualify for any majors."
