Harrington sees off Haas
Haas v Harrington (Europe won 1-up)

Padraig Harrington
Padraig Harrington sank a superb putt at the 18th to ensure his 1-up victory over Jay Haas in the penultimate Ryder Cup singles match at Oakland Hills.

The 33-year-old Irishman, who maintains his unbeaten singles record, made par at the last to deny Haas a half.

Harrington was then free to join in the celebrations of his European team-mates who had already won the Cup.

Harrington had surged into a three-hole lead after eight holes but Haas showed spirit to take the match the distance.
