Tiger to tie the knot
Woods and Nordegren at the 2002 Ryder Cup
Woods and Nordegren will marry in Sweden
Tiger Woods is to marry his Swedish girlfriend Elin Nordegren.

The 23-year-old former model's father confirmed Woods proposed at a South African game reserve after playing in the Presidents Cup last week.

Thomas Nordegren told Swedish newspaper Expressen: "Elin is incredibly happy. It's great."

The couple live in Orlando, Florida, but the wedding is to take place in Sweden although they are said to be in no rush to set a date.

Lynn Giles, a warden on the Shamwari Game Reserve, said: "Tiger had planned everything very carefully, but [Elin] knew nothing about it.

"When they returned the diamond was sparkling on her finger. She was so moved that she could hardly speak, she was just glowing and was very, very happy."

World number one Woods met Nordegren when she was working as a nanny to the children of Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik.

The engagement comes after a season in which the 27-year-old Woods failed to win a Major for the first time in five years.
