Success for Huston
John Huston
Huston kept his cool to win
John Huston shot three birdies in four holes at the end of his round to edge out Brenden Pappas by one stroke and take the Southern Farm Classic.

Pappas started the final round seven strokes behind Huston but moved into contention with a 10-under 62.

But Huston showed his experience over the closing holes to birdie the 15th, 16th and 17th and finish with a two-putt from about 12 feet for par on the 18th for a 20-under total.

It was Huston's first victory in three years and his seventh in total and he becomes the 11th player over the age of 40 to win on the Tour this season.

Pappas. who had missed the cut in five of his last six starts, had a superb round, reaching the turn at five under, thanks to an eagle at the 5th.

He birdied five of his first six on the back nine and moved into the lead after Huston bogeyed the ninth.

But after his good run, a bogey at the 18th where a poor tee shot caught the lip of the bunker cost him dearly and Huston recovered to claim victory..

Shigeki Maruyama shot a 66 to take third a further shot back with rookie Chris Anderson, Hidemichi Tanaka and Paul Stankowski all tied for fourth on 16-under.

Defending champion Luke Donald closed with a 71 to finish in joint 10th place on 14 under.
