Huston still on top
Huston holds a two-shot lead
Huston holds a two-shot lead
John Huston fired a four-under par 68 to maintain a two-stroke lead heading into the final round of the PGA Southern Farm Bureau Classic.

The 42-year-old is on 16-under after 54 holes, two strokes ahead of Japan's Hidemichi Tanaka and fellow Americans Paul Stankowski and Chris Anderson.

"It was a bad finish," said Huston. "I need to shoot a good score on Sunday, but I'm still in great position."

This is only Huston's second event since he withdrew from the PGA Championship in mid-August and the first time since early June he has played in back-to-back weeks.

After a birdie at the third hole, Huston bogeyed the fourth but he kept the lead by playing the next 10 in five under, thanks to birdies at the fifth and seventh holes and three more from the 12th to 14th.

Huston came back to the field with a bogey at the 17th hole and finished with a par at the par-five 18th.

"A birdie over the last two holes could have stretched it out," Huston added. "You never know what to expect on Sunday.

"It's important to get off to a good start and go from there."

Britain's Luke Donald, the defending champion, is fifth, one stroke ahead of South Africa's Tim Clark and Japan's Shigeki Maruyama.
