Price on the mend
Price had to pull out of the European Open
Welsh golfer Phillip Price intends to compete in the Scottish Open which starts on Thursday at Loch Lomond.
He had an early morning practice on Wednesday and is still putting ice on the neck injury which forced him to withdraw from last week's European Open halfway through his second round.
With the Open Championship now just over a week away, Price is eager to get as many competitive rounds under his belt before heading for Muirfield. But with his debut appearance at the Ryder Cup in September also on the horizon, the 35-year-old is desperate to avoid making any permanent damage.
"I want to play at Loch Lomond so that I get proper preparation for the Open," Price told BBC Wales Sport.
"I've been quite lucky over my career to avoid getting injured very often, so this is a new experience for me. "I thought I was in real trouble last week - the pain went from my shoulder right down my arm and into my hand. So I thought I was in real trouble.
"I've had a few days rest with some good treatment and the injury seems to have responded well."
