Kim puts pressure on Webb
Mi Hyun Kim
Kim is confident after her second-place finish at Evian
South Korea's Mi Hyun Kim of South Korea shot a five-under-par 67 to tie Karrie Webb for the lead at the Rochester International.

The pair are eight under 136 after 36 holes, two shots better than Beth Daniel.

Kim, 25, made five birdies without a bogey and felt she could have shot even lower.

"When I teed off in the morning, the greens were still bumpy," she said.

"I couldn't read the line on any of the putts, not even from three or five feet. I missed a lot of birdie chances."

Webb had led by three strokes overnight but could only manage a 72 to keep a share of the lead.

She said: "Because I shot eight-under yesterday, it feels like you're not playing well at all when you shoot even par."

The 27-year-old Webb has 26 wins on the LPGA Tour, including five majors, and has twice been Player of the Year but she is without a win in her last 17 starts.

Dip in form

After a scorching opening round on Thursday, her second round was a little disappointing.

She picked up a birdie at the third, rolling home a 10-footer. But poor putting at five and nine resulted in bogeys.

Webb rebounded with a birdie at the 11th but finished with seven straight pars.

"I really didn't hit the ball as well as yesterday," she said.

"That was the big struggle today. Yesterday, I think I missed one or two fairways or greens, and today it was a few more of each."

Second-placed Daniel shot a four-under 68, a round that was bogey-free and featured three birdie putts of longer than 10 feet.

"Four birdies, no bogeys - it was a good round," she said.

"I got off on the right foot. All in all, I had a steady round of golf. A very solid round."
