Westwood, Cejka get Seve call-up
Lee Westwood
Westwood will tee off in Dublin next month
England's Lee Westwood and German Alex Cejka have been named as wildcard picks for next month's Seve Trophy.

Britain and Ireland captain Colin Montgomerie announced on Monday that Westwood would take up the final spot in the team to face Continental Europe.

Westwood joins Ian Woosnam, Paul McGinley, Darren Clarke and Padraig Harrington among others in the team.

Montgomerie's European opposite number, Seve Ballesteros, meanwhile, opted to call upon Cejka for the event at Druids Glen in County Wicklow.

The German, though, only earned his place in the line-up after fellow countryman Bernhard Langer and Spain's Sergio Garcia turned down an invitation to compete.

The European team is made of predominantly Spanish and Scandanavian players, among them Miguel Angel Jimenez, Jose Maria Olazabal, Thomas Bjorn and Niclas Fasth.

Great Britain and Ireland team: C Montgomerie (Scotland, capt), P Casey (England), D Clarke (N Ireland), P Harrington (Ireland), D Howell (England), P Lawrie (Scotland), P McGinley (Ireland), S Webster (England), L Westwood (England), I Woosnam (Wales).

Continental Europe team: S Ballesteros (Spain, captain), T Bjorn (Denmark), A Cejka (Germany), N Fasth (Sweden), M Gronberg (Sweden), R Jacquelin (France), M Angel Jimenez (Spain), R Karlsson (Sweden), T Levet (France), JM Olazabal (Spain).
