Harrington's major ambition
Padraig Harrington
Irshman Harrington ready to drive for a big bonus
Padraig Harrington has a driving ambition when the new golf season gets under way.

The top Irish golfer has signed a deal which could reap him a cool six-figure bonus - as long as he wins his first major.

The Dubliner has signs a lucrative new deal with Wilson to use their new Deep Red 365 driver which he used for the first time in the Volvo Masters in November.

It brought him luck too, as he went on to end a run of seven runners-up finishes.

That success lifted him into the world's top 10 and runner-up to Retief Goosen in the 2001 European Order of Merit.

"I had been testing the driver for some time, so my performance came as no surprise to me,'' said Harrington.

"I believe it can help give me the edge I need to win my first major.''
