Woods makes slow start
Woods' round included a double bogey
Tiger Woods lies four shots off the lead after the first round of the Walt Disney Classic in Florida, his first tournament since the terror attacks last month.
The US golfer is tied in 31st place in his return to competitive play after five weeks. He hit six birdies but a double bogey as he finished his outward nine and a dropped shot at the final hole pegged back his score. Five players lead the field in the Lake Buena Vista event. Stewart Cink, Scott McCarron, Steve Lowery, Len Mattiace and Shaun Micheel shot seven-under-par rounds of 65. David Toms, Fiji's Vijay Singh and Canadian Mike Weir were among seven players lying one shot off the pace. Cink, McCarron and Lowery all are trying to hold on to one of the final 30 spots for the season-ending Tour Championship in a fortnight. Despite qualifying for the US Ryder Cup team, Cink is currently only 28th on the money list. Leading first round scores 65 S Cink, S Lowery, L Mattiace, S McCarron, S Micheel |
