Estes wins Invensys Classic
Bob Estes holds the winners' trophy, flanked by two Las Vegas showgirls
The win is the biggest of Estes' career
Bob Estes shot a final round nine-under par 63 to win the PGA Invensys Classic in Las Vegas on Sunday.

Estes began the day five shots off the lead, but clawed his way back into contention and took adavantage of a critical mistake by Tom Lehman to claim victory.

It was the second win of the year for Este, who finished at 30-under for the five rounds, a shot ahead of Lehman and Rory Sabbatini.

Estes said: "I hit more amazing shots, quality golf shots, than I ever have this week."

Playing in the next-to-last group, Estes birdied nine of his first 16 holes to get the lead, then made two routine pars to clinch the title.

Estes was helped by a par, which had looked unlikely, at the sixth hole and a mistake by Lehman, who dumped his second shot into the water on the 16th.

Deserved victory

"It was probably the most amazing par I ever made," Estes said.

Lehman, who along with Sabbatini missed a putt to tie on the final green, said of his error: "It was like the club slipped in my hand - it was pretty bizarre."

But Lehman offered no excuses and paid tribute to Estes, saying: "I just didn't play well enough. You have to tip your hat to someone who shoots 63."

Scott McCarron, who began the final round three shots ahead of the field, gave all three back with a quirky triple-bogey at the fourth.

Davis Love III finished fourth with a course-record 61, which might have been even better.

Love was 10 under for the day and had two possible eagle holes in front of him in the reachable par-4 15th and the par-5 16th.

Love parred both holes, though, before making a birdie on 18 to shoot the course record.
