A superb eight-under-par 64 took Pak Se-ri into a seven-shot lead after the third round of an LPGA Tour champions event in Alabama.

The South Korean struck a remakable 10 birdies, including six-in-a-row from the 13th to 18th holes.

Pak 15-under-par total puts her seven shots ahead of Canada's Lorie Kane (67) and eight ahead of fellow South Korean Grace Park (71) and American Dottie Pepper (69).

Pak was unaware how great her achievement was.

"I didn't even know it," she said.

"I was thinking I had made two birdies, one par, two birdies, one par. On 17, I was starting to put my scores down and I saw so many circles and I said 'Oh my God, I've made five in a row already'.

"This is pretty much a record for me to have six birdies in a row.

"I pretty much focus on every hole and every shot. Even when I make a birdie, I usually forget about it on the next hole. When I make birdie, I'm trying to get one on the next hole. That's why I didn't realise I got six in a row."

South Korean Kim Mi-hyun, who held a one-stroke lead over Pak at the start of the day, had a nightmare round and recorded a 78 for a total of 214.

Defending champion Karrie Webb of Australia was on 212 following a round of 69.
