South Korea's Kim Mi-hyun held on to her place at the top of the leaderboard after the second round of the LPGA event in Alabama. But her two-shot overnight advantage was cut to one after the 24-year-old returned a 71 for an eight-under-par total of 136 at the Magnolia Groves Crossing course. Compatriot Pak Se-ri moved through the field with a 67 to take second place on 137, one stroke ahead of fellow Korean Grace Park, who recorded her second straight 69. Emilie Klein struck a 69 lto finish one shot ahead of fellow Americans Meg Mallon and Dottie Pepper. Kim had an up-and-down round, birdying the fourth, ninth, 15th and 18th holes but also bogeying the seventh, eighth and 17th. Kim commented that it was good to see the South Korean players doing well. "We want to win and have a lot of Korean fans, so everybody is trying hard this week," she said. Pak celebrated her 24th birthday by compiling seven birdies - three of those coming at par fives - and two bogeys. "I just tried to be as happy as I could today because it's my birthday. I just tried to have some fun. Yesterday I didn't make a lot of putts and was able to make some today," said Pak.
