Leonard on top in Texas
Leonard was a class apart on Friday
Texas Open
American Justin Leonard birdied four of his last five holes to establish a three-shot lead after the second round of the Texas Open. In total, Leonard recorded 10 birdies, three bogeys and five pars to record a seven-under-par 64. That moved him ahead of overnight leader Marco Dawson (68) and Carl Paulson (66), who were tied for second on 10 under. Sweden's Jesper Parnevik carded a five-under-par 66 to finish alongside Americans Jay Williamson (68) and Tripp Isenhour (65) on 133 - four shots behind the leader. "I've been driving well, but I'm still not hitting my irons well enough," said Parnevik. "I holed a lot of putts for par and birdie so I'm pleased, but it still can be better." Leonard was delighted with his efforts. "I had 15 great holes and three others today," said the 29-year-old American. "I made some putts today, hit the ball really close and had a lot of fun."
