Sunningdale: Round One stats

BBC Sport Online is at Sunningdale for the Weetabix British Open to provide statistics from the opening day's play.

Canadian Lorie Kane birdied four of her first five holes.

Marina Arruti couldn't have been more satisfied with her start - she eagled the first hole and then repeated the feat at the second.

American Dorothy Delasin, the 1999 US Amateur Champion, got to the turn in 31 thanks to an eagle, four birdies and just one bogey.

Laura Davies and her playing partners Annika Sorenstam and America's Rosie Jones all birdied their first two holes.

Disaster struck Norwegian rookie Suzann Petterson approaching the turn. She double-bogeyed the 6th and 8th and in between triple-bogeyed the 7th.

Among the others who had the misfortune of a triple bogey were Asa Gottmo (at the 12th) and Caroline McMillan (at the 17th)

Spain's Raquel Carriedo, who currently lies second in the European Tour Order of Merit, had contrasting fortunes at the start of her round with an eagle at the first and a bogey at the second.

Johanna Head, who finished on -4 for the day is three-under par for the par fives on the course.

English amateur Rebecca Hudson dropped just two shots all day - at the 12th and the 13th.
