The Frome witch project
BBC'S Belfy Witches
Can the spell be lifted?

An amateur football team who can't score at home have called in a white witch to try and improve their woeful form.

Frome Town FC have found the net just three times at their Badger's Hill ground this season - compared with 31 goals on their travels.

The statistics have baffled both players and management alike and resulted in the side sliding town the Screwfix Direct Premier Division.

Team spokesman Ian Pearce said: "No-one can explain why we can't win at home. We were told about a local white witch and contacted her to see if she can do anything."

The witch in question,Tatania Hardie, has agreed to meet up with the players and perform a series of rituals in a bid to reverse Frome's fortunes.

She said: "I've no idea what I'm going to encounter. The ground might be cursed or it could be in their minds.

"It could be that some players are sensitive to the feeling of the ground or are adversely affected by any underground water.

"If two or three are feeling down then even without revealing it they could bring down the others."

Tatania, who has written four books on witchcraft, added: "It's a great challenge and I'm looking forward to it."

Mind you, that's what Kevin Keegan said when he joined Man City.
