A song about Niall Quinn's pants has been voted the funniest football chant of all time by fans.

Niall Quinn's Disco Pants, sung by Sunderland supporters, beat off stiff competition from other ditties - including Manchester City's Invisible Man and the generic Who Ate All The Pies.

More than 2,000 supporters voted in the survey, carried out by the Thomson Smile League travel company.

West Bromwich Albion's Boing Boing Baggies was voted the weirdest chant, ahead of the likes of The Chip Buttie Song favoured by Sheffield United.

Liverpool fans were chosen as the supporters with the best sense of humour, while Arsenal were surprisingly in joint ninth place.

Presumably because they can laugh at themselves for not actually singing.

Spurs get whipped again

Tottenham are hoping they won't be the whipping boys next season, despite announcing plans to launch their own ice cream.

The club are banking on fans to forget about recent disappointments by forking out for the frozen treat.

Spurs Ice Cream, which goes on sale later this month, is only available in forest fruits and vanilla flavour to give it that distinctive blue and white colour.

And supporters will be pleased to here they have finally scored a victory over Arsenal, who plan to bring out their red and white version a few weeks later.

David Nelson, director of ice cream makers EAT, said: "We did taste tests with three families of Tottenham fans and they all liked the appearance.

"They particularly liked the fact we were launching Tottenham ahead of Arsenal."

The ice cream will be sold in tubs in and around White Hart Lane from 25 July. The question is, will it get licked as often as the team?
