Ronaldo's sex revelation

Ronaldo faced a typically unique inquisition from Brazil's press as the carnival started to celebrate their fifth World Cup Final triumph.

Brazil's two-goal hero was reduced to tears of laughter when he was asked the question on everybody's lips as he reflected on the win against Germany in Yokohama.

It's not that sex is not good, but for now the most rewarding thing is winning the World Cup

And the burning question was: "What is more rewarding - winning the World Cup or having sex after going without it for 40 days?"

Ronaldo gathered his composure and answered in a way which he claimed would please his coach Felipe Scolari.

"Winning the World Cup is more rewarding," he insisted.

"I will have sex in a few moments, but the World Cup only happens every four years.

"I have to say this because my boss is listening. It's not that sex is not good, but for now the most rewarding thing is winning the World Cup."

Even Brazil's flamboyant and brilliantly talkative media man Richard Setyon, who has a reputation as high as some of Scolari's squad among the world's travelling media, was temporarily silenced.

He regained his composure as Ronaldo left the room - with no-one asking what he was going to do next.
