The virtual World Cup
2002 Fifa World Cup
You can ensure England are champions!
England have been handed the perfect opportunity to win the World Cup this summer.

The virtual World Cup, that is.

EA Sports have announced they are releasing the official game to coincide with the world's biggest football tournament.

All 32 teams are represented in 2002 Fifa World Cup and you have the pick of the world's best players at your disposal.

Players can either stick with the designated groups, playing each match as if it were the real thing, or make up their own.

Show-boating

Unlike the actual World Cup, you could see three different teams lift the trophy on the same day - with finals between Brazil and Argentina or England and Ecuador!

You can win the final several times over

The game is being launched in April, two months before the big kick-off, and promises a "whole new world of show-boating and high-tempo, high-impact action".

It will be available on PC-CD, PlayStations 1 and 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube.

Executive producer Marc Aubanel said: "We've gone to great lengths to develop the most realistic, enjoyable Fifa World Cup experience.

"In order to do so we've signed an unprecedented number of licenses so we can deliver soccer fans their favorite players and teams in Fifa World Cup uniforms, competing in sanctioned World Cup Stadiums, replicated with lifelike detail."
