A musical tribute to England coach Sven Goran Eriksson is due for huge chart success this weekend.

The pop song dedicated to England coach Sven Goran Eriksson is set to enter the UK top 10 this weekend.

Sven Sven Sven, by comedians Martin Bell and Jonathan Spurling, was released on Monday amid a blaze of publicity.

And should England qualify for the World Cup by beating Greece on Saturday, fans are expected to snap up thousands more copies, taking the song to the top of the charts.

It looks like we'll be flying up to Manchester to arrive for the game in time - and we don't care who's paying!

Co-writer Martin Bell told BBC Sport Online: "Someone told me it was provisionally number eight on Wednesday, but the songs in front of it weren't selling so well.

"I'm hoping it will be number five this weekend and number one the following Sunday."

A spokesman for chart compilers CIN confirmed that the song was "almost certain" to be in the top 10.

Sven Sven Sven is a light-hearted tribute to Eriksson and his achievements since becoming England's first foreign coach.

Bell & Spurling also have a dig at some of the players, telling David Seaman: "Your hair is a right old state, All you need is a Mark One Escort and a sovereign ring, mate."

Inundated

But the public love it and the media can't get enough of the duo.

"I've been involved in records for 15 years and I've never seen anything like this," said Bell, an established songwriter and session musician.

"We have been inundated with TV and radio requests - BBC News, Football Focus, GMTV, Channel 5, you name it.

"It initially looked like me and Jon might miss the game on Saturday because of TV commitments, but there was no way we were going to let that happen!

Euro 96 was a carnival atmosphere

"It looks like we'll be flying up to Manchester to arrive for the game in time - and we don't care who's paying!"

The song is due to be played before kick-off at Old Trafford and again when the match is over.

Bell added: "One of my abiding memories of Euro 96 was when the England players walked off the pitch singing Three Lions with the crowd.

"It would be great if that happened to us."
