Acrobatic gymnastic world champion Edward Upcott receives the Sports Personality of the Year award from BBC Surrey's Adrian Harms
Gymnast Edward Upcott won the Sports Personality of the Year award at the 2010 Surrey Sports Awards.
The 18-year-old was recognised for his achievements after he won gold in the men's pairs event at the World Acrobatic Gymnastic Championship in Poland in July.
He told BBC Surrey:
"It's great to be recognised by my borough for my sporting achievements.
Upcott is also member of Spelbound, who won television show Britain's Got Talent earlier this year.
The Coach of the Year award went to
Jon Escott, of Swifts Junior Badminton Club in Lightwater.
"I spend time with children from six to 18-years-old from beginners up to national players," Escott said.
"We inspire the national players to help the beginners and 11 have become coaches in the past year, which is fantastic news."
Georgia Peel won Young Sports Personality of the Year
The Outstanding Service to Sport award
went to Cyril West, who works for the Guildford and Woking Alliance.
Cyril has worked for 40 years in football administration, filling various roles with the Guildford Referee Society. He is currently chairman of the Surrey & Hants Border League.
Patricia Balcombe of Surrey Heath Netball Club
won the Volunteer of the Year award, while the Young Volunteer of the Year award went to
Toby Corning of Merrow Cricket Club.
The Club of the Year award went to Curley Park Rangers Football Club from Bagshot.
Treasurer Ken Johnson said:
"We want to put this club on the map.
"It's all the hard work put in by members of the club that has moved the club forward to where we are today."

Georgia Peel, who runs for Aldershot, Farnham and District
Cyril West was awarded for his services to football
Rowledge Cricket Club won the
Team of the Year award
for their performances in reaching the semi-finals of the National Village Knockout Cup.
Their captain David Lloyd said: "It's a fantastic achievement. When I go back and tell the rest of the club they'll be overjoyed.
"It's a family club and everyone is made to feel welcome."
Other winners included Matthew Hall, who won the Disability Sports Award for his
work in increasing sporting opportunities for people with disabilities,
and the George Abbott School Rowing Programme, who won the award for Innovation in PE and School Sport award.
