Nordic Walking to fitness in 2009


Nordic walk your way to fitness

Nordic Walking originated in Finland in the 1930s and can be used by all types of people to try and get fit.

Walkers use poles as they walk which helps the whole body get a workout and burns off more calories.

"It can lend itself to all sorts of levels. You can do it for health, for fitness or on a sporty level as well," said instructor Elaine Sylvester.

"You have the extra support of the poles so whatever age or whatever build you are you can get fit."
