Player Profile

Clark is a quick and tenacious player who is vying for a place in central midfield at the World Cup alongside Michael Bradley.

Clark made a career-best 10 starts for the national team last year, four of which came at the Confederations Cup as the US reached the final in South Africa.

He also scored the winning goal in last September’s World Cup qualifier against Trinidad & Tobago as his Trinidadian father watched from the stands.

Clark joined Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga this January following the expiry of his contract with MLS.

A calf injury delayed his debut until late April but the club has nonetheless extended his initial short-term deal until 2013.

He started his career in New York aged 20, and then moved to San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo.

In Texas he won back-to-back league titles in 2006 and 2007 and was named in the MLS All-Star team for the third time in 2009.
