SuperSport captain Khumalo has enjoyed an outstanding season at club level, helping his side to a third successive Premiership title, having become the youngest captain to lift the trophy last year at the age of 22.
The centre-back was recalled to the national set-up after an injury to his club team-mate Morgan Gould but although highly-rated, the Swaziland-born defender faces stiff competition for a starting berth in the side and is likely to provide back-up to Mokoena and Sangweni.
The former Pretoria University defender played for the South Africa under-23s during the Beijing Olympic qualifiers in 2008 and was named in last summer’s Confederations Cup squad but did not feature.
